My name is Cheryl S. Vandergriff, and above all, I am a child of the Most High God. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of ten. As the fifth of six children, I was blessed to be raised in a home where our parents and grandparents instilled in us the love of Jesus Christ from an early age.

I come from a proud military lineage as a third-generation Army veteran, while my husband is a second-generation Army retiree. We have been married for over 44 years and are blessed with four wonderful children, a cherished daughter-in-love, and four beautiful grandchildren. We are active members of a local church in Winston-Salem, NC, where I serve as an intercessor and a member of the altar prayer team.

In 2015, I began creating natural products, including sugar scrubs and body oils, out of a personal need. Having struggled with sensitive skin, I found that store-bought products did little to help. This led me to study herbs, essential oils, and their benefits. What began as a necessity soon flourished into a passion, launching my business—originally Courage and Clarity Heaven Scent, now Courage and Clarity Natural Oils, LLC.

Anointing oils have been a part of my faith journey for many years, but in the summer of 2018, the Holy Spirit impressed upon me not only to use them but to create them for others. Each oil is crafted with prayer, reflecting the biblical significance of anointing—setting apart people and objects as holy and dedicated to the Lord. While anointing oils are a beautiful, tangible symbol of faith, they hold no power on their own. It is Jesus Christ alone who performs miracles and answers prayers. Scripture references anointing over 150 times, including Matthew 6:17: “But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face.”
